Investing in Film Development with Top Cat Films
Development investing is an alternative to investing in films by funding production. Return begin as soon as film production begins, without waiting for commercial success. Additionally, development investors still get to participate in the potential upside of hit films.

Top Cat Films is world citizen in the film industry and the films we make are intended for world audiences. We are unabashedly profit-driven. We want to make hit films that will be enjoyed by world audiences. And this is what separates us from other film companies in Australia.
Top Cat is a relatively new production company. Robert Galinsky and Elizabeth Howatt-Jackman decided to collaborate only in 2006. During that time a remarkable number of milestones have been achieved.

To become a ‘studio without walls’, it is Top Cat’s strategy to be constantly developing interesting new projects as they present: whether from external script writers, novels or from an inspired place by one of the principals.
This will allow us to be flexible and responsive to immediate trends. For example, the incredible worldwide success of Twilight and True Blood has created an almost insatiable appetite for vampire projects, and Top Cat has been able to capitalize on that by having VEIN in its portfolio, now ready for financing in the last quarter of 2009.
By having a number of projects in development (as opposed to making one project at a time, governed by the producer’s passion or need to generate income), Top Cat is in a position to capitalize on trends and opportunities to maintain production and ensure that the films we make have a market at the time they are produced. In this way we can offer investors a return from a slate of films, knowing there is a market for them and made at a time when the world is ready for them. |
